Lot 988 USMC Officer's Sword
US Marine Officer's sword. Post WWII. Sword style based on the Mameluke sword is a cross-hilted, curved, scimitar-like sword historically derived from sabres used by Mamluk warriors of Mamluk Egypt after whom the sword is named. Is the oldest weapon used in the US military today. "Lawrence R. Darner" on blade. 30" blade, gold hilt and simulated pearl grips. Very good condition. From the Joseph Musso Collection
